On the last day of operation over the Rimutaka Incline, 29 Oct 1955, a Wairarapa railcar, Rm 7, arrives at Kaitoke on its way from Masterton to Wellington. Six of these 49-seat railcars had been in service on this route since Sep 1936. They were capable of climbing the famous 1 in 15 incline at 8 or 9 mph.
